About Our Gulf Shrimp

Q: Where are Biloxi Shrimp Co.'s shrimp from?

A: Our wild-caught Gulf shrimp are fresh shrimp harvested from the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and South Atlantic and processed in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Q: Do you sell pond-raised or foreign shrimp?

A: Absolutely NOT. Our shrimp are 100% USA wild-caught shrimp brought to you by USA shrimpers.

Q: Do you sell Royal Reds?

A: We do not carry Royal Reds. We do carry the finest wild-caught shrimp on the market, though!

Q: Are your shrimp raw or cooked?

A: Our shrimp are IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) raw wild-caught USA shrimp.

Q: Do you sell head-on shrimp?

A: No, all Biloxi Shrimp Co. shrimp are headless IQF.

Q: Do your shrimp have any preservatives? What all is listed?

A: To preserve the famous wild-caught taste our customers love, our shrimp go through a light coating of sodium bicarbonate and citric acid.

Q: How long will my shrimp last in the freezer?

A: Our shrimp keep their fresh flavor for 6 to 9 months in the freezer. After 10 to 12 months, your shrimp will still be edible, but you may notice less of our famous taste.

How to Order Shrimp Online

Q: How can I tell the size of the shrimp I am buying?

A: In each product name you will find the count per pound (ex: 16/20). The count of shrimp per pound, in this case, would be between 16 to 20 shrimp. Our shrimp come in 2 lb. bags, so multiply each count x2. You would get approximately 32-40 shrimp in a 2 lb. bag of 16/20 shrimp.

Q: Do I have to order online?

A: If you would like assistance with your order, or to complete it by phone, we would love to help. Give us a call Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT at 601-385-1824.

Q: What is the minimum order?

A: The minimum order (2 lbs.) is auto-populated to your cart on each product page.

Q: What methods of payment do you accept?

A: All major credit cards and PayPal.

Q: I just placed my order. What's next?

A: You will receive a confirmation email within 30 minutes of placing your order. This email will provide your confirmation number. You will receive a separate email with your tracking code once your package is scanned into the mailing system.

Q: How long does it take to receive my order?

A: Orders shipped Monday through Wednesday normally take two to three business days. Visit our shipping page for more details.

Q: Do you sell wholesale?

A: Yes! Our parent company, Biloxi Freezing & Processing, Inc., is one of the largest shrimp processors in the nation. Nearly 15% of all domestic shrimp processed in the United States travel through our facility in Biloxi, Mississippi! Email for more wholesale information.

Q: Can I pick up my order from you in Biloxi?

A: We do not have a retail counter. Our shrimp are now available for purchase at Quality Poultry & Seafood in Biloxi.

Shipping U.S. Wild-Caught Shrimp

Q: Where do you ship?

A: The continental United States along with Alaska*.

*Alaska currently has a limitation on how much dry ice can be incorporated into packages. To ensure the quality of our shrimp, we double-layer our packages for longer travel times. The amount of dry ice we use exceeds the regulations in many areas.

Q: Do you ship from locations outside of Biloxi?

A: Yes. If you check on your order and see that it’s coming from Minnesota, rest assured, it’s still our Gulf shrimp sent straight from Biloxi! To better serve our customers we have established a distribution center in Minnesota. We package and ship our shrimp in bulk to the northern distribution center -- same great Gulf shrimp, same quality service, faster shipping times!  So, if your order ever says it’s coming from Minnesota, that’s why, but it’s all still Gulf shrimp from us at Biloxi Shrimp Co.! Speaking of orders…

Q: Can I leave special delivery instructions in the "Order Comments"?

A:Unfortunately we do not have a way to transfer delivery instructions to UPS. Once you receive your tracking number, we advise that you communicate to UPS directly with any special shipping instructions.

Q: How is my order packed for delivery?

A: To ensure our shrimp are delivered to your home or business still frozen, we strategically pack your order into a reusable cooler layered with dry ice. We add enough dry ice to keep your shrimp frozen for a 72-hour trip in the event a shipping issue arises after leaving Biloxi Shrimp Co. If there is dry ice in your container, please handle with care.

Q: Why is my order coming from Minnesota?

A: To better serve our customers on the East Coast, West Coast and the northern United States, we have partnered with The Fish Guys out of St. Louis Park, Minnesota. We package and ship our shrimp in bulk to their distribution center, and they ship out orders for us. That means our customers get the same great shrimp and same quality service but with faster shipping times. 

Q: Is my order shipping out of the Minnesota distribution center or the Biloxi, Mississippi location, and how long will it take to get here?

A: Please refer to our map below.

    • All states that are colored in black will ship overnight the same day from Minnesota when you order before 12:00 p.m. CT Monday through Thursday.
    • All states colored in yellow will ship same day from Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1 to 3 days when you order before 12:00 p.m. CT Monday through Wednesday.

Please note: All orders from anywhere in the country placed on Thursdays before 12:00 p.m. CT will automatically ship from our Minnesota distribution center with overnight shipping.

For Help with Your Order

Q. How do you recommend

A: For food safety, the product is not to be consumed raw. Cook to an internal temperature of 145°F.

Cooking Guidelines:

    • Sauté: Med-high heat for 6-8 minutes
    • Boil: 3-4 minutes
    • Grill or bake: 400°F for 3-4 minutes per side
    • Fry: 375°F for 2-3 minutes

Shrimp are done when the skin turns pearly and opaque. Based on appliance and cookware, cooking times may vary and require adjustment.

Please note: Keep frozen until ready to thaw. Do not refreeze. Thaw under refrigeration overnight.

Q: Why is there a strong smell?

A: Some may notice a stronger smell with our shrimp than the shrimp you buy from the grocery store. This is due to our shrimp being processed through our state-of-the-art facility immediately after the catch arrives at our docks.

Q: My order arrived partially thawed or completely thawed. What now?

A: We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back. In the event of delays or shipping issues, we recommend checking the core of the shrimp to see if they are frozen. If so, you are safe to place them in the freezer. If the shrimp are thawed, please email us at so we can assist you with a replacement order.
