Q: Where are Biloxi Shrimp Co.'s shrimp from?

A: Our shrimp are domestically caught in the warm waters of the Gulf and are all processed, packaged and frozen at our Biloxi, Mississippi facilities.

Q: Do you sell pond-raised or foreign shrimp?

A: Absolutely NOT. Our shrimp are 100% USA wild-caught shrimp brought to you by USA shrimpers.

Q: Do you sell Royal Reds?

A: We do not carry Royal Reds. We do carry the best tasting, wild-caught U.S. shrimp on the market, though!

Q: Are your shrimp raw or cooked?

A: Our shrimp are IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) raw wild-caught USA shrimp.

Q: Do you sell head-on shrimp?

A: No, all Biloxi Shrimp Co. shrimp are headless IQF.

Q: Do your shrimp have any preservatives? What all is listed?

A: To preserve the famous wild-caught taste our customers love, our shrimp go through a light coating of sodium bicarbonate and citric acid.

Q: How long will my shrimp last in the freezer?

A: Our shrimp keep their fresh flavor for 6 to 9 months in the freezer. After 10 to 12 months, your shrimp will still be edible, but you may notice less of our famous taste.

How to Order Shrimp Online

Q: How can I tell the size of the shrimp I am buying?

A: In each product name you will find the count per pound (ex: 16/20). The count of shrimp per pound, in this case, would be between 16 to 20 shrimp. Our shrimp come in 2 lb. bags, so multiply each count x2. You would get approximately 32-40 shrimp in a 2 lb. bag of 16/20 shrimp.

Q: Do I have to order online?

A: If you would like assistance with your order, or to complete it by phone, we would love to help. Give us a call Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT at 601-385-1824.

Q: What is the minimum order?

A: The minimum order (2 lbs.) is auto-populated to your cart on each product page.

Q: What methods of payment do you accept?

A: All major credit cards and PayPal.

Q: I just placed my order. What's next?

A: You will receive a confirmation email within 30 minutes of placing your order. This email will provide your confirmation number. You will receive a separate email with your tracking code once your package is scanned into the mailing system.

Q: How long does it take to receive my order?

A: If you order by 12 noon CT on Monday through Thursday, your order will ship for next day delivery. Visit our shipping page for more details.

Q: Do you sell wholesale?

A: Yes! Our parent company, Biloxi Freezing & Processing, Inc., is one of the largest shrimp processors in the nation. Nearly 15% of all domestic shrimp processed in the United States travel through our facility in Biloxi, Mississippi! Email info@biloxishrimpco.com for more wholesale information.

Q: Can I pick up my order from you in Biloxi?

A: We do not have a retail counter. Our shrimp are now available for purchase at Quality Poultry & Seafood in Biloxi.

Shipping U.S. Wild-Caught Shrimp

Q: Where do you ship?

A: The continental United States along with Alaska.

Q: When do you ship?

A: Mondays through Thursdays. Orders placed after 12 noon CT on Thursdays through noon CT on Mondays, ship on Monday. Visit our shipping page for our shipping schedule and full shipping breakdown.

       Q: Can I leave special delivery instructions in the "Order Comments"?

A:Unfortunately we do not have a way to transfer delivery instructions to UPS. Once you receive your tracking number, we advise that you communicate to UPS directly with any special shipping instructions.

      Q: How is my order packaged for delivery?

 A: To ensure our shrimp are delivered to your home or business still frozen, we strategically pack your order into a box lined with recycled PET insulation material.

Q: Why is my order coming from Minnesota?

A: To better serve our customers on the East Coast, West Coast and the northern United States, we have partnered with The Fish Guys out of St. Louis Park, Minnesota. We package and ship our shrimp in bulk to their distribution center, and they ship out orders for us. That means our customers get the same great shrimp and same quality service but with faster shipping times. 

Q: What shipping company do you use? 

A: We ship our shrimp products via UPS.

       Q: What is 1-Click-Protect powered by Route?

A: Biloxi Shrimp Co. is proud to partner with Route, the leader in package protection. Route Protect is automatically added to your order at checkout, but also, gives you the option to remove the shipping insurance from your cart before you place your order. Route ensures that your packages will be protected from loss, damage, or theft. In the unfortunate instance that you experience one of these inconveniences once it is in the hands of our shipping carriers. You can report an issue with Route, and they will work with you to make sure you get the resolution you prefer. You can also contact our customer service representative directly to resolve any issues. We are excited to offer this service to you, and we highly recommend you include Route package protection on your order at checkout.

For Help with Your Order

       Q. How do you know when the shrimp are cooked?

A: For food safety, the product is not to be consumed raw. Cook to an internal temperature of 145°F.

*Cooking Guidelines may vary per size:

    • Sauté: Med-high heat for 6-8 minutes
    • Boil: 3-4 minutes
    • Grill or bake: 400°F for 3-4 minutes per side
    • Fry: 375°F for 2-3 minutes

Shrimp are done when the skin turns pearly and opaque. Based on appliance and cookware, cooking times may vary and require adjustment.

Please note: Keep frozen until ready to thaw. Do not refreeze. Thaw under refrigeration overnight.

Q: My order arrived partially thawed or completely thawed. What do I do?

A: If the shrimp are still frozen in the core, you can still put them in the freezer. Once the shrimp leave our facility they are in the hands of UPS, and it is their responsibility to get them to you without delay. We strongly recommend that all customers purchase Route shipping protection. Please email us at info@biloxishrimpco.com if we can assist you with a claim through Route.

Q: My order never arrived. What do I do?

A: Email us at info@biloxishrimpco.com or send us a message on Facebook. Please provide your name, order number and contact information. You may also call 601-385-1824 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT. We will work to resolve your order as fast as possible!
