Spread the Love This Valentine’s Day with These Delicious Gulf Shrimp Recipes!

Valentine’s Day is this Friday! For those looking to have a more intimate night in, there are few better ways to show your affection than with a home-cooked meal; and for us, of course, there’s no better meal than one made with wild-caught Gulf shrimp. Our succulent shrimp pair perfectly with just about any ingredients imaginable, which makes them perfect for a multitude of recipes. Here are just a few of our favorites that are easy to make and are sure to satisfy you and your special someone this Valentine’s Day!
CREAMY SHRIMP BISQUE
Servings: 4
Total Time: 30-35 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Jumbo 21/30 Count EZ Peel Wild-Caught Gulf Shrimp (peeled & deveined with shells set aside)
- 3 cups seafood stock (or water)
- 2 tbsp butter
- ½ small onion, chopped
- 1 small carrot, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp flour (for thickening)
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Make Shrimp Stock:
- Sauté shrimp shells in a saucepan with a little butter for 3-4 minutes.
- Add stock (or water), simmer for 10 minutes, then strain and discard shells.
- Cook Vegetables:
- Melt butter in a large pot.
- Sauté onion, carrot and garlic until soft (about 5 minutes).
- Build the Bisque:
- Stir in tomato paste, paprika, salt and pepper.
- Pour in the strained shrimp stock and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Blend & Thicken:
- Use a blender to puree the soup until smooth.
- Stir in the flour mixed with 2 tbsp water to thicken.
- Finish with Shrimp & Cream:
- Add shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes until pink.
- Stir in heavy cream and heat through.
- Serve:
- Garnish with parsley and enjoy!
MANGO SHRIMP SALAD
Servings: 4
Total Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Extra Small 61/90 Count Peeled & Deveined Tail-Off Wild-Caught Gulf Shrimp
- 1 ripe mango, diced
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 small cucumber, diced
- ¼ red onion, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped
- 4 cups mixed greens or romaine lettuce
Dressing:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp honey
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions:
- Cook the Shrimp:
- Boil or sauté shrimp in a little olive oil for 2-3 minutes per side until pink. Let cool.
- Make the Dressing:
- Whisk together olive oil, lime juice, honey, salt and pepper.
- Assemble the Salad:
- In a large bowl, combine mango, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion and greens.
- Add cooked shrimp and drizzle with dressing.
- Serve:
- Toss gently, top with avocado and enjoy!
SPICY CAJUN SHRIMP PASTA
Servings: 4
Total Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Extra Small 61/90 Count Peeled & Deveined Tail-Off Wild-Caught Gulf Shrimp
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ½ tbsp Cajun seasoning
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- ½ cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Juice of ½ lemon
Instructions:
- Cook the Spaghetti:
- Boil spaghetti in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the Shrimp:
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Sauce:
- In the same pan, melt butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
- Add cherry tomatoes and red pepper flakes, cooking until softened.
- Stir in heavy cream (or half-and-half) and Parmesan, simmer for 2 minutes.
- Combine & Serve:
- Add cooked spaghetti and shrimp to the pan, tossing to coat.
- Squeeze in lemon juice and sprinkle with parsley.
- Enjoy!
- Serve immediately with extra Parmesan if desired.
