Four Shrimp Recipes Perfect for the Fourth of July!

The Fourth of July is Thursday! That means fireworks, pool parties and getting the grill ready for summer favorites. If you want to set this year’s festivities off with a bang, Biloxi Shrimp Co.’s Gulf shrimp is the answer. Check out some of our best recipes that are perfect for Independence Day!

Herb & Spiced Grilled Shrimp Skewers

Shrimp skewers are perfect to make out by the grill and they're made even better with tasty herbs and spices!

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. If using bamboo skewers, soak them in water for 30-60 minutes before using, to prevent burning on the grill
  2. Mix olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, herb & spice blend and salt/pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Add the defrosted shrimp to the bowl and gently turn to coat. Let shrimp marinate 20 minutes.
  4. Preheat grill 15 min ahead of time or if using pan 5-10 min over med/high heat.
  5. While preheating, remove shrimp and thread onto skewers.
  6. Grill skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, until shrimp are opaque.
  7. Top with fresh lemon juice and enjoy!


Buffalo Shrimp Lettuce Wraps

Recipe by Lindsey Freeman that makes for a perfect mix of spicy and refreshing!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. of Extra Large 31/40 Peeled & Deveined Tail-Off
  • 1/3. cup buffalo sauce
  • 2 tsp. oil or butter for sautéing
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 6-12 leaves of romaine or bibb lettuce

Toppings:

  • Carrots, shredded
  • Red bell pepper, chopped
  • Jalapeño pepper, sliced or chopped
  • Pickled carrots or pickled jalapeños
  • Shredded cabbage or slaw
  • Red onion, chopped
  • Green onion, chopped
  • Cilantro
  • Crushed red pepper flakes
  • Extra buffalo sauce for drizzling

Directions:

1.Keep thawed shrimp in fridge covered, while prepping wraps

2.Wash lettuce and chop your choice of toppings

3.Heat a large pan or skillet to medium-high heat with 2 tsp of butter or oil

4.Season with paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, & black pepper

5.Sauté shrimp for about 3 minutes or until done

6.Add buffalo sauce to pan; mix to coat while the pan is still hot

7.Add shrimp to leaves either chopped or whole

8.Add in favorite toppings

9.Enjoy!

Classic Shrimp Cocktail

Shrimp cocktails are a classic appetizer, especially for parties, because they're so easy to make! This recipe has a homemade sauce and is ready in just 10 minutes. You can even prep several days ahead to make it easier come the day of your next party!

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. First, add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix.
  2. Rinse shrimp well in cold water, and pat dry
  3. Serve the cocktail sauce with the cold shrimp garnished with lemon wedges and parsley.

Biloxi's Shrimp Tacos are our delicious spin on a classic dish!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. of shrimp (or more as needed). Your preference of size alongside peeled & deveined or peeled & deveined with the tail on as pictured.
  • 1 packet of taco seasoning (your choice) per pound of shrimp
  • 4 tortillas per pound of shrimp
  • Shredded mixed cheese and other tacos add-ons of your choice such as cilantro, onions, tomatoes or a spritz of lime

Directions:

  1. Thaw shrimp, coat in taco seasoning (as specified on the packet), and cook in buttered pan until pink.
  2. Fill tortillas with shrimp, shredded cheese and other add-ons.
