Spicy Shrimp Tacos

When you want something spicy to eat and easy to make, these shrimp tacos are the perfect meal. A garlic-cilantro-lime slaw does a great job of cutting through some of the heat without sacrificing flavor.

Taco Mix Ingredients

Garlic Cilantro Lime Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup green onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 limes
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream

Garlic Cilantro Lime Sauce Instructions

  1. Add the ingredients for the sauce into a blender or food processor. Pulse until the sauce is smooth.
  2. Slowly incorporate the sauce into the cabbage. Use enough to coat the cabbage and then set the rest aside to use on the tacos.

Cooking Instructions

  1. In a medium-size pan over medium heat, cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side.
  2. Once the shrimp are cooked, place the tortillas on the pan for about 30 seconds per side.
  3. Lay the tortillas on a flat surface and construct your tacos.
  4. Once your taco is filled with the garlic cilantro-lime slaw and shrimp, top it off with a couple of avocado slices, cilantro and Cotija cheese.

Spicy Cajun Shrimp

This spicy Cajun shrimp recipe is a deliciously savory dish. The Cajun spice blend adds a nice kick to the meal and gives it loads of flavor without overpowering the rest of the dish.

  • 2 tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp. sriracha
  • 15 oz. tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp. Cajun seasoning
  • Lemon juice to garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, add olive oil over medium heat and cook the vegetables until softened.
  2. Once the vegetables are soft, add garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the garlic is fragrant, add butter, tomato sauce, Cajun seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar and sriracha (or another sweet chili sauce).
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then drop the heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
